Arwa is a Libyan graduate student at the Max Bell School of Public Policy. Her interests and research examine the socio-political situation in Libya, particularly the civil war's impact on women and its induced gender-based violence. She is looking forward to learning more about policymaking and its gendered implications to formulate policy recommendations for improving women's rights in Libya and the MENA region.

Arwa completed her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science at the American University of Beirut. She did her final capstone project on a referral system designed to actively involve community members in implementing an intervention to address illegal migration from Lebanon. During her undergraduate, she completed many internships including one at the Asfari Institute where she produced research on feminist movements and policies in the Middle East, particularly Lebanon, and Syria, and created original content to raise awareness on women's rights including abortion, safety, and period poverty.
