Patricia Garcia Amado is a postdoctoral researcher at McGill Political Science department. She holds a PhD in Human Rights by the University of Deusto and her dissertation explores the housing rights of urban IDPs, particularly tenure security as an element of local integration processes in Kampala, Uganda. With a background in Political Science (BA), Humanitarian and Peace Studies (MSc), Patricia has lectured on forced migration, humanitarian protection, HLP and livelihoods in displacement, and carried out research at academic and humanitarian institutions, mostly on the African continent. Her research interests lie on HLP in displacement, agency in displacement, and IDPs integration processes. She is currently working on the project "Protecting the internally displaced: Sovereignty, agency and the localization of international norms" at McGill University.
